TRB Nursing Scholarship

TWISTED ROOT ❤️'S NURSES!

$1 of every Burger of the Month benefits the Twisted Root nursing scholarship, part of the Advancing Nursing Excellence scholarship program at Baylor Scott & White – North Texas. The Advancing Nursing Excellence (ANE) scholarship program provides salary stipends for current Baylor Scott & White Health – North Texas employees who want to fulfill dreams of becoming registered nurses (R.N.) or further their nursing skills through advanced degrees. This program provides an answer for the challenge these hardworking, ambitious individuals face: they can’t afford to quit working full-time to pursue additional education opportunities. The Twisted Root scholarship will go to a special recipient who has shown the kind of caring to be a nurse who heals souls as well as bodies.

WHY DO WE ❤️NURSES?

In 2009 our owner, Chef Jason was in a horrific accident that landed him in the hospital for 53 days and 9 months in physical rehabilitation. During that incredibly difficult time he came to realize that the doctors were the ones healing his body, while the nurses were busy healing his soul. Since then he has been looking for a way to thank those nurses, so we teamed up with our friends at Baylor Scott and White, and the TRB Nursing Scholarship was born.

WATCH BELOW TO HEAR ABOUT IT IN CHEF JASON'S OWN WORDS:

Share your favorite nurse story

What does 53 days in a hospital do to you? If you're Chef Jason, it makes you beyond grateful for the work nurses do. Chef Jason has told his story, now we want to hear yours! . Share a story about YOUR favorite nurse below. If you know them, name them, if you don't just give them a shout out as a "Thank You ❤️". 'Tis the season of thanks, after all! . We'll be selecting our favorite nurse stories on Dec 1 to be featured on our Twisted Nurse flyer to go out with each Burger of the Month sold.
