The Story

When I was 28 years old I was fired from my corporate job for doing something that everyone wants to do. I told a customer off, I mean I really let them have it. I told them exactly what I thought of them and I pulled no punches. I would say I used more than one or two expletives. Needless to say, I was promptly fired.

After 5 years of corporate bull, I decided to pursue my real passion, cooking. I thought I was a good cook but knew there was much more to learn. Culinary School was the answer. There, I met Quincy Hart, a 35 year veteran of the Southwestern Bell Company and passionate home chef. We instantly hit it off, constantly brain storming on flavor profiles, restaurant ideas and concepts and what makes the best all-American burger.

After nearly two years and several restaurant jobs later, we were graduates of culinary school. I got a job at the prestigious Four Seasons Resort and Hotel in Las Colinas, and Quincy got a job with the Pappas Brothers corporation.

While we worked and honed our culinary skills we dreamed of one day owning our own restaurant. Even though we can make Alaskan King Crab legs in a champagne pomegranate sauce we were always frustrated by the lack of a quality burger.

After three years of business plans and earning and raising money, our dream is born. Welcome to Twisted Root Burger Company.

We are the only trained chef-driven burger joint in town, and one of the few restaurants that has its own Pastry Chef. Yes, Chef Steve, pastry chef of 7 years from the Four Seasons Hotel, is making fresh creamy ice cream everyday. I challenge anyone to try and find a better tasting Root Beer float or milkshake in town.

I invite you to come in try our burgers and join in our dream. Just be respectful because now I can tell you off and not get fired for it.
