Just down the street is our sister restaurant, Tacos and Avocados, where you can get your fun and funky taco fix.
This is simply one of my favorite places for Sunday brunch! The laid back atmosphere, the awesome burgers, great friends... it's hard to beat!... Now for the main event... HAMBURGER! First... decide your meat: Turkey, venison, elk, kangaroo, rabbit, etc... Or in my case...BUFFISON! Buffalo/ Venison mix... leaner and meaner, without being too dried out! Healthy, and heart-happy! Then decide how you would like that burger prepared... I'm a big fan of the pre-prepared styles like the Verde, the Kevin Bacon or the Frito Bandito! These are easily some of the better burgers in the Metroplex by far! Loaded with toppings, and thrown onto fresh bread! Exactly what the Doctor ordered! Top it off with BallPark fries... nacho cheese, chili, bacon bits and jalepenos! As if you couldn't tell... I like this place! 5 STARS
The Twisted Root is among my all time favorite burger joints in all of Texas... Why is it twisted? The restaurant starts with a rustic barn bar type feel. The decor is made up of rusted aluminium siding, wood benches, random tables, and beer containers as condiment holders. Why have napkins when you can have a roll of paper towels at each table? ... Their solution to graffiti? Graffiti their own walls first! Black-chalkboard type paint around certain areas, like the bathroom, where odd sayings and thoughts are written for all to enjoy... This place is so good that it even made it on to the food networks Diners Drive In's and Dives. I suggest you check out that review and then go yourself if you are near a location... it's worth the drive... really!
This is my most favorite burger place EVER- and quite possibly because they have the best fried pickles with peppercorn ranch that I have ever had. And that's saying a lot considering that fried pickles are one of God's gifts to me! ha! I love this place, food is always amazing- I love the buffalo burger with mushrooms & swiss. Give it a try, you won't be sorry! Can't wait to see you again, Twisted Root!
